Talent blooms like wildflowers
in Evergreen. Several longstanding organizations showcase the diversity
of talents of local artists, thespians, singers, musicians and other performers.
• The award winning Evergreen Players has performed musicals, comedies,
and dramas since 1950. The amateur troupe, consisting primarily of local residents,
stages five plays each year. The home of the Evergreen Players is Center/Stage
in Evergreen (27608 Fireweed Drive), shared with the Evergreen Chorale and the
Evergreen Children's Chorale. The organization also provides a Youth Drama Camp
for children ages 5-15.
• The Evergreen Chorale, made up of 80 members, has performed locally for
more than two decades. The Chorale presents two concerts and two musical theatrical
productions each year at Center/Stage. Concerts consist of serious and/or light
music and are performed in December and May.
• The Evergreen Children's Chorale is a private non-profit mountain community
organization providing musical performance opportunities for youth in grades
2-8.
• The Evergreen Jazz Festival takes place in late July/Early August each
year. The combination of world-class talent and intimate venues makes the three

an event called First Thursdays. Held the First Thursday evening of every month,
the event includes special exhibits and refreshments at each location.
• The 48 member Evergreen Chamber Orchestra performs to standing-room-only
crowds at four concerts each year. Two additional unique concerts are performed
to introduce music to the younger generation. The orchestra also breaks into
ensembles to provide intimate stage concerts hosted in local homes.
• The Evergreen Artists Association is the largest and best-known arts
group in the area. The association consists of painters, sculptors, photographers,
and craftspeople from throughout the area and offers workshops, discussion groups
and lectures. The association also sponsors the ever-popular annual Evergreen
Arts Festival, in addition to small exhibitions and art classes.
• Evergreen also is home to the famed Little Bear nightclub, which regularly
features national musical acts as well as talented local musicians and emerging
bands.

Lakehouse on the first and third Wednesdays of June, July and August.
